Attached is a photo gallery of the Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department raising the traditional Christmas tree in downtown Lemoore on Sunday, Nov. 27. About 35 volunteers and a hundred or so onlookers watched as the Volunteers too a couple of hours to put up the tree at the intersection of D and Fox streets. The tree came from the Sierras, above Oakhurst.
Six of the seven announced candidates running for the Lemoore City Council showed up Wednesday for a “candidates’ afternoon” at the Tachi Hotel and Casino where Mayor Lois Wynn and about 75 persons feasted on a lunch of Mexican fare before settling down in one of the Tachi Hotel’s conference rooms to get a feel for what the candidates think about a variety of issues. While its football team struggled on the field, Lemoore High School’s vaunted NJ ROTC (Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corp) continued its domination in national, state, and local NJ ROTC circles.
