Local ag leaders honored at 20th Annual Kings County Salute to Agriculture Friday

The Lemoore Chamber of Commerce honored a pair of Kings County heavyweights in the field of agriculture at its 20th annual Kings County Salute to Agriculture. The Miya family of Miya Farms was honored as the 2014 Agriculturist of the Year while the University of California Cooperative Extension and UC Farm Advisor Dr. Bob Beede were honored as the Ag Supporter of the Year.

The event was held at Jack Stone’s Barn last Friday (Sept. 12). A number of dignitaries, including Lemoore Councilmember Lois Wynne and Assemblymember Rudy Salas were on hand to help honor the recipients.
