Lemoore also beat El Diamante earlier in the week 8-7. In that match Mellott had three goals while Souza scored twice as did Alyssa Vazquez.

Lemoore’s girls’ water polo team won a pair of matches last week, a 5-4 victory over Redwood on Tuesday, Sept. 30 and a 9-2 decision against Mt. Whitney in the Lemoore pool on Thursday, Oct. 2.
In the Redwood game, Kelley Mellott had four goals while Matti Cunningham chipped in with one score. Macy Buhl had 13 saves and two five-meter saves, the last one coming with just 18 seconds left in the game.
Mellott had six goals in Thursday’s win. Emma Souza scored once and Cunningham had two goals. Buhl had 10 saves from her position in front of the net.
The Tigers will have matches back to back this week beginning with a contest at El Diamante on Wednesday and a home match against Golden West Thursday afternoon. The girls will also play in the Sunnyside Tournament and start with Clovis East and Central on Friday night.
