Tiger boys water polo drops another in WYL action

Lemoore’s boys’ water polo team, despite some talented performances, has dropped its last four West Yosemite League matches to fall to 8-8 overall. The Tigers hope to rebound Tuesday night when they face Hanford in the Bullpups’ pool.

Golden West dealt the latest blow to Coach Josh Acosta’s crew Thursday, edging the Tigers 13-10 despite a furious comeback attempt. Jake Hansen led all Tiger scorers with five goals. Several Tigers scored at least one goal, including Ethan Barnhart, Roman Benitez, Jonah Burke, Calvin Rhoads, and Spencer Stinger.

Against El Diamante earlier in the week, again Lemoore could not quite make up the difference, dropping a 14-13 decision to the Miners. In that game Barnhart led all Tiger players with four goals, an assist and two steals. Benitez chipped in with three goals, a block, and three steals.

Hansen again came up big with three goals and three steals while Chase McDonald and Stinger each scored.
