Police investigate shooting incident in which man wounded in abdomen

Lemoore Police officials are investigating a shooting incident in which a Lemoore man was shot in the abdomen. The incident occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at about 6:30 p.m. Lemoore police officers arrived at a residence on Huntington Court to find a man who reportedly had a single gunshot wound to his abdomen.

The victim was transported by helicopter to the Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment.

During the course of the initial investigation, officers learned that the shooting occurred at an apartment complex on West Bush Street. The victim told officers that he had taken a taxi to the apartment complex, where he was confronted by several suspects, one of whom shot him.

The victim then got back in the taxi and told the driver to take him to the hospital. The driver was unable to take him to the hospital so he drove the victim to his [the victim’s] home in Lemoore. Two firearms were recovered in the taxi, one of which had previously been reported stolen out of Fresno.

The victim underwent surgery for his injury and is expected to survive. At this time few other details are known regarding this case. No suspects or other victims have been identified.
