Kings Sheriff's, local agencies combat human trafficking and child exploitation

Between November 29 through December 1, the Kings County Sheriff’s Department, joined by local Kings County police agencies as well as the California Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Kings County Major Crimes Task Force, Homeland Security and Naval Criminal Investigation Services (NCIS) fielded an operation to combat Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation.

According to the Kings County Sheriff’s Office, human trafficking and child exploitation is a growing issue, requiring hard work and constant attention. Local law enforcement officials say trafficking can take place in any community, regardless of its size or location.

During the vast operation, investigators spoke to numerous individuals through Internet sites and mobile applications known to foster this activity. Through those conversations, several persons arranged to meet to pay for sex, receive money for sex, meet with underage girls and boys for sex, and arrange for underage girls to enter Human Trafficking.

The Kings County Sheriff’s Department said that suspects were arrested on various charges related to human trafficking and child exploitation, and two females were rescued from human trafficking. The suspects arrested include:
