Police nab suspected drug dealers in possible stolen vehicle Saturday in Lemoore
The Lemoore Police Department received a call of a stranded motorist with a man lying down on the eastbound onramp to Highway 198 from Northbound Highway 41. Lemoore police officers contacted Robert Dorame and Ramona Alvarado, who were standing outside of a vehicle that was broken down. While speaking to Dorame and Alvarado, the two officers observed a screwdriver in the vehicle's ignition, a common indicator that a vehicle is stolen. The officers ran the vehicle's vehicle identification number and determined that the vehicle was reported stolen out of the Visalia area.
Both individuals were then detained, and while conducting a search of the vehicle the officers located hypodermic needles, burglary tools, and items related to the sales of a controlled substance, later determined to be methamphetamine. The officers also determined that there may be narcotics hidden in the vehicle.
The Lemoore Police Department K-9 was called out to the scene to search the stolen vehicle for hidden narcotics. The handler and his K-9 partner located hidden bindles of methamphetamine beneath the vehicle. The methamphetamine was later weighed and found to be almost 4.0 grams.
Thirty-year-old Dorame of Hanford was booked into the Kings County Jail for possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $20,000
Thirty-year-old Alvarado of Tulare was booked into the Kings County Jail for possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance for sale, and a felony warrant out of Tulare County. Her bail was set at $70,000.
