Local police pursue car theft suspect in high-speed chase, make an arrest

An 18-year-old Lemoore man led Lemoore Police on a high-speed chase before finally being apprehended. The suspect, Tyler Tagle, was finally arrested by police after running from his vehicle on Nov. 14 about 3:40 p.m.

Lemoore Police received information regarding a stolen vehicle possibly being driven by a Tagle. The vehicle was spotted on West Bush with a white-male adult and white female juvenile inside. The vehicle exited a parking lot in the area and drove onto North 19th Ave. It then proceeded west on West Bush. Officers quickly identified the vehicle as the car confirmed as stolen from a residence in Lemoore.

The vehicle drove into the area of Augusta and Spyglass, where the female juvenile exited the vehicle. The driver then sped off with unmarked police units following. They activated their lights and sirens as the suspect refused to yield and sped through the residential neighborhood.

As marked units converged on the area, the suspect drove north on Acacia Drive towards West Bush. A marked patrol car began traveling south on Acacia from to join the pursuit, at which time the suspect swerved towards the patrol car, causing the officer to swerve away from him to avoid a collision. The suspect then continued northbound, running the posted stop sign at a high rate of speed. While trying to make a westbound turn, the suspect spun the vehicle and proceeded back southbound through a dirt field.

As he drove towards another LPD officer in an unmarked unit, that officer executed a maneuver on the vehicle and caused it to become disabled. The suspect then ran from the disabled vehicle and was quickly apprehended.

According to police, Tagle admitted to stealing the vehicle as well as breaking in to several other cars in the area. Approximately $1,500 worth of stolen property was recovered in the car.

Tagle was later booked into the Kings County Jail for vehicle theft, grand theft, felony evading, assault with a deadly weapon, and resisting/delaying a police officer.
