The Police Department and Lemoore Christian Aid, held their annual "Reason for the Season" event on December 19 at the Lemoore Civic Auditorium. This year, due to many generous donors, the organizations were able to provide food baskets for in excess of 60 families, and presents for more than 160 kids within in the community.
On Monday, Dec. 22, Lemoore Police Department personnel, including sworn and non-sworn members, volunteers, and family members participated in the annual "Presents on Patrol" campaign. The Lemoore Police officials were able to provide food and presents to needy families with children, as well as some seniors in the community.
“For people who are down on their luck, it is especially difficult during the holiday season.” Said Lemoore Chief of Police Darrell Smith. “For many, they don’t know how they are going to provide a holiday meal and gifts for their children, if it were not for these two programs. Thanks to our local business owners, civic groups, and our residents, we were able to raise $10,000.00 this year for these two events. This community always steps up to support programs like this.”
