If Lemoore High School’s recently completed football season had been a major Hollywood movie, it would have swept all the major Oscars. Even North Korea’s Kim Jong-un couldn’t stop this year’s major epic of a season, a thrilling campaign that ended with a West Yosemite League championship and a thrashing of cross-county rival Hanford.

As it is, the Tigers captured all the major awards, including the league’s Offensive Player of the Year, Cort Groathouse, who easily is the league’s MVP, if not the Valley’s top player. Defensive Player of the Year honors went to senior Zack Frazier while Matt Cole was named the league’s Lineman of the Year.

To top it all off, the director of this year’s masterpiece was WYL Coach of the Year Shannon Pulliam, who was also named head coach of the 2015 Kiwanis All-Star Game.

The Tigers had 11 players from their 10-0 perfect WYL campaign earn WYL honors. Others to win first-team spots included wide receiver Reggie Davis, linebacker Tim Johnson, lineman Mitchell Lawrence, and defensive back Allen Perryman.

Second team honors went to Isaiah Rodrigues at linebacker, defensive back Jerald Campbell, Dawson Cooke at defensive end, and A.J. Bow at tight end.

Honorable mentions included offensive linemen Mitchell Foote and Jayden Hunt as well as Kyle Jue at his linebacker spot.

Hanford had five Bullpups earn first-team honors while Hanford West placed two players on the first team.
