Matt Cole, a standout nose guard and center, who helped lead this year’s Tiger football team to a West Yosemite League championship, on Thursday signed a national letter-of-intent to play football for Minot State University in North Dakota.

Cole is a 6-3, 230-pound player who played both ways for Lemoore in 2014. The Tigers went 11-1, losing only to Dinuba in the second round of the Division II playoffs.

According to MaxPreps, Cole recorded 33 total tackles, 15 of them solo with three sacks and a recovered fumble.

The Beavers could probably use Cole’s talents. Minot State went 1-11 last year under head coach Tyler Hughes.
