Remote control argument leads to attempted murder charge

Police say that an argument over a television remote control may have led to an attempted murder charge against 37-year-old Alberto Solorio, who police suspect of striking his 59-year-old father with a baseball bat.

On Wednesday, February 18, at about 10 p.m., Lemoore Police Officers were dispatched to Wentworth Ct. in Lemoore regarding a subject who was reporting that he struck his 59-year-old father with a baseball bat. 

Lemoore Officers responded and discovered the elder Solorio lying on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood.  He was semi-conscious when officers arrived and was able to give a statement that his son, Alberto Solorio, was in fact the subject who struck him. 

The suspect, according to police, was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim over batteries missing in the television remote control.  The suspect became angry with the victim and ultimately struck him multiple times in the head with a baseball bat.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center for injuries consisting of a fractured skull, and was reported in stable condition.

Alberto Solorio was subsequently arrested for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.   Solorio was booked into the Kings County Jail his bail is set at $525,000.
