Tiger baseball gets off to 4-1 start, Selma next March 3

It has been a pretty good week for the varsity boys’ baseball team. Going into Tuesday's game against Selma, as part of the Central Valley Diamond Classic, the Tigers were 4-1 and got plenty of solid performances at the plate and on the mound. On Thursday Lemoore won its fourth game without a loss against Mission Oak High School 8-1, but loss its first game to Dinuba on Saturday 5-4.

On Tuesday, Russ Tuman went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI to lead the Tigers to a 5-2 victory and in their openers last Saturday, the Tigers won a pair from Central Valley Christian, a 6-1 victory in the opener and 7-6 win in the nightcap.

Austin Murrieta pitched four strong innings against CVC, giving up just five hits and striking out seven while not allowing a run. Freshman Jack Foote had three hits and a pair of RBI to go along with a solid pitching performance on the day.
