Lemoore man stabbed in possible gang-related altercation at apartment complex

On Monday April 20, what police say was a verbal altercation, turned deadly as a 25-year-old man suffered stab wounds.  At about 12:30 a.m., Lemoore police units were dispatched to the area of the Country Club apartment in regards to several people fighting in the street with sticks.

Upon arrival the 25-year-old male was located suffering from possible stab wounds. He was transported to Adventist Medical Center in Hanford where it was discovered he had been severely beaten and stabbed. He had stab wounds in his left shoulder, his neck, face and on his head. Due to the severity of his injuries he was transported to a hospital in Fresno. He was listed in stable condition, receiving treatment and expected to recover.

According to witnesses and the victim there was a verbal altercation between the victim and three or four suspects that turned physical in the street. The altercation may have been related to an incident at a local liquor store earlier in the day.

The incident is believed to be gang related and is being investigated by the Kings County Gang Task Force.
