It was a tough week for Lemoore’s diamond teams. On Friday both the baseball and softball teams were blanked by Redwood High School. Despite a solid defense in six of seven innings, the Rangers managed to put together a four-run second inning to chase starting Lemoore pitcher Jake Hansen in the boys’ contest.

Chandler Gryzbicki entered the contest but couldn’t stop a minor Ranger assault when Rickie Garcia stroked a 2-run single to give his team a 4-0 lead.

That’s how it stayed the rest of the way. Lemoore was unable to get any offense started, but managed to hold the Rangers scoreless the remainder of the game.

For the ladies, the Rangers blanked the Tigers 10-0 and fell to 2-6 in the West Yosemite League and 8-18 overall. The softball team will host Mt. Whitney on Wednesday.
