Woman's best friend scares off would-be robber during Saturday incident

Thanks to the loyalty of man’s best friend, in this case a woman’s best friend, a would-be robber was scared off after attempting to rob a Lemoore woman.

Lemoore police officers responded to a call on Saturday, June 27 about 10:20 p.m. of an attempted armed robbery in the area of Silverado and Carmel Dr. 

The victim reported that she was walking her dog when an unknown male walked up behind her, grabbed her by the arm and brandished a knife while telling her to give him all she had.

As she was pulling out her cell phone to give to the suspect the victim's dog became alarmed and lunged at the suspect, scaring him away without taking the victim's phone. The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white or light skinned Hispanic male, about 6-foot tall, 180 pounds, wearing a black or brown bandana over his face, as well as a black hoodie and blue jeans.  Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the Lemoore Police Department and (559) 924-9574.
