Police apprehend suspect in post July 4 armed robbery attempt

Two victims told police that they were hanging out with some friends in the area when they were approached by 4 black male adults. The suspects confronted one of the victims while he was getting a phone out of his friend's vehicle. One of the suspects displayed a silver/gray colored firearm and demanded his property.
While the victim was getting his property out of his pockets the other male suspects physically assaulted him. After taking his property, the suspect carrying the firearm stole the victim's vehicle and proceeded to flee. The victims then ran away from the scene while the other 3 suspects walked away from the scene.
One of the victims was not injured in this incident. The other victim sustained minor injuries, but refused any medical treatment.
At approximately 4 a.m., a Lemoore police officer was in the process of interviewing one of the victims. As he was doing so, a black-male adult walked by the area. The subject was identified by the victim as being one of the suspects who physically assaulted him during the robbery.
The subject was contacted and identified as 18-year-old Darrien Washington of Armona. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Kings County Jail on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. His bail was set at $120,000.
The suspect reported to have wielded the firearm is described as a black male adult, about 20 years, wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt. The other suspects are described as black-male adults, about 20 years of age, wearing unknown clothing. The victims were unable to provide officers with any further description of the suspects.
