Police make quick work of apprehending suspects in July 2 robbery

A pair of Lemoore men were arrested by Lemoore police on suspicion of robbery on Thursday, July 2 at about 10 a.m. A victim told a Lemoore Police Officer that he had listed a generator for sale on Facebook and received numerous text messages from a person stating that he wanted to buy it.

 Three people arrived at the victim’s residence and rather that purchase the generator, accused the victim of stealing the generator from one of them earlier.

One of the suspects, identified as 27-year-old Nathan Sargent of Lemoore, threatened to hit the victim and motioned towards him with his fists. This caused the victim to fear for his safety. According to the victim, Sargent then reached passed the victim, who was standing near his open car door, and stole $10 off of the seat. The victim stated that he was too scared to resist the suspect and that after the theft, fled to a nearby house.

Responding officers contacted the residents of the house where the suspects fled to and were granted permission to enter. Once inside they contacted the three suspects involved, detained them, and had them step outside.

An investigation identified the remaining two suspects as 39-year-old Jeffrey Fernandez of Lemoore and 30-year-old Teddy Lee of Hanford. The three suspects were identified by witnesses as being involved in the incident and brought to the police department for further investigation.

Once at the department all three provided statements to the investigating officer about the incident. Lee was also questioned in regards to two stolen vehicle cases in which he was named as a suspect. After questioning, Fernandez was released without charges. Sargent was booked into the Kings County Jail for robbery, conspiracy, and committing a felony while out on bail. Lee was booked into the Kings County Jail for robbery, conspiracy, two counts of possession of stolen property, and two counts of vehicle theft.

Sargent's bail was set at $95,000.00 and Lee's bail was set at $110,000.00.
