A 14-year-old boy admitted that he attacked a Lemoore female while she was jogging on Fox Street at approximately 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22.
It was at about 6 a.m. that a Lemoore police officer was flagged down at Cinnamon Dr. and Fox St. by a female who told the officer that she had just been attacked. The female said she had been jogging on Fox just north of West Cinnamon Drive when someone came up behind her and grabbed her breasts. She fell to the ground and was able to turn over onto her back and fight off the suspect.
During the assault she said that the suspect also tried to take a fanny pack that was around her waist. She did not know the suspect, who ran away in a northeast direction, but did manage to provide the officer with a good description of him.
The victim sustained minor injuries, including lacerations and bruises, but declined medical attention.
Lemoore detectives responded and located a subject matching the suspect’s description at Heritage Park on East Hanford-Armona Rd. The suspect, a 14-year-old, was taken to the police department to be interviewed. During the investigation the subject admitted to the attack.
The suspect was subsequently arrested for attempted robbery and sexual battery and was booked into the Kings County Juvenile Center.
