An alert resident reported some suspicious behavior in the area of Juniper Ln. and West Spring on Sunday, Aug. 2 at about 2:30 a.m. prompting Lemoore police officers to respond and quickly apprehended a suspect who was apparently caught with burglary tools and a possession of a dagger.
It was reported that the subject, was seen looking through vehicles in the area. When officers arrived on scene they located a white vehicle parked in the area and also saw a subject matching the description get into the vehicle.
As the vehicle left officers attempted to stop it. Two occupants then ran from the vehicle and the driver sped off. Officers were unable to locate the subjects who ran from the vehicle, but were able to locate the vehicle at the intersection of North Lemoore Ave. and Hanford Armona Rd.
Officers were then able to detain the driver, later identified as 34-year-old Marcos Soto of Lemoore, and his 17-year-old passenger, also a resident of Lemoore.
Upon searching the juvenile, officers located a screw driver and an opened box cutter knife in his pockets.
He was ultimately cited and released for possession of burglary tools and possession of a dirk or dagger. Marcos Soto was arrested and booked into the Kings County Jail for evading a police officer. His bail was set at $5,000.
A search of the vehicle revealed a flat screen TV in the back seat. Another TV and cell phone were recovered at the scene of the initial call. It is believed these items are stolen. Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the Lemoore Police Department at 559-924-5333.
