A 25-year-old Lemoore woman was arrested by Lemoore Police officers on Tuesday, August 4 at about 12:30 a.m. and booked into the Kings County Jail for possession and transportation of methamphetamine, prescription medication without a prescription, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and driving without a license.
Lemoore police officers responded to the area of East Deodar Ln. and Ashland Dr. early Tuesday morning following a report of a suspicious person leaving a recently burned house. When officers arrived, they were told that a female was seen outside of the house. The female, Valarie Garrett, got into a red pickup truck and left the area.
Another officer responding to the area located a pickup truck matching the description a few blocks away. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and when the vehicle came to a stop the female driver immediately got out of the pickup and fled on foot. A chase ensued, and the female was caught about half a block away.
A check of the pickup’s VIN revealed that it was stolen in Visalia. The license plate attached to the pickup was also determined to be stolen from another vehicle.
When officers searched the pickup they located methamphetamine and several prescription pills. Her bail was set at $70,000.
