A 5-month search for a suspected car thief ended this week when Lemoore Police reported that the suspect, Tyler Tagle, was arrested in Riverside County and returned to Kings County. On Tuesday, Sept. 29, Table was booked into the Kings County Jail with bail set at $190,000.

It was back on April 20, 2015 that Lemoore police officers were dispatched to Orangewood Dr. regarding a vehicle that had just been stolen.  As officers were responding to the scene the victim told dispatch his vehicle was last seen traveling northbound on Orangewood Dr.  The vehicle was described as a 2009 Maroon Cadillac Sedan.

The vehicle was left running while the victim went back into a residence.  The victim’s teenage son was in the back seat at the time of the theft of the vehicle but the suspect told the juvenile to get out of the car. The victim told Tagle that there was a California Department of Corrections (CDCR) uniform and badge in the car along with a firearm.

Officers arrived on scene but were unable to locate the vehicle.  A broadcast of the victim vehicle and suspect were put out.  A Lemoore officer heard the broadcast and realized he had contact with a subject, Tagle, earlier in day.  The officer said Tagle matched the description of the suspect.  Officers then put together a photo line-up and the victim was able to identify Tyler Tagle as the suspect who stole the vehicle.

Later that evening the King County Sheriff's Department found the correctional officer’s uniform which was thrown in a dumpster on Kent Ave.  A Lemoore officer responded to the call and collected the uniform.  The uniform was later identified and returned to the victim.  A warrant was later issued for Tyler Tagle for vehicle theft and carjacking.

On April 27, Lemoore police officers were notified by the Kings County Sheriff’s Department that the stolen vehicle had been located, but that the suspect was long gone
