Longtime Lemoore great-grandmother, Ignacia Cavazos passes away

Born In 1932 in Progreso, Texas, she and her husband Odilon moved to Lemoore in 1956, raised 5 children, 3 grandchildren and built a community of friends and neighbors. The pillar of her family, she worked hard her entire life ensuring that all her family’s needs were met.
In 1985, after her husband retired from the J.G. Boswell (Boston Ranch) Company, they became active in the Senior Citizen Center and built many friendships.
She is survived by her sons; Odilon Jr. (Spouse Leila from San Diego), Jaime (from Lemoore), Oscar (from Lemoore); daughters, Inez Hall (from Fresno), Flora Schumacher (Spouse Dave from Lemoore); grandchildren, Mercedes Keath (Spouse Troy from Sacramento), Amy and Santiago Rodriguez (from Lemoore), Leiloni Cavazos (from San Diego); great-grandchildren, TJ, Jordan and Noah Keath (from Sacramento); Santana and Marley Ruiz (from Lemoore); brothers Pete and Ramon Vasquez (from Texas).
Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, October 12, followed by a rosary at 5 p.m. at the Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. October 13 at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Lemoore followed by interment at the Lemoore Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Cavazos family requests a donation be made to the Lemoore Senior Center, 789 S. 18th Ave, Lemoore, CA 93245-0616.
