Lemoore High School’s Dani Kinder shot an even-par 72 to win by 11 strokes Tuesday at Porterville’s River Island Golf Course and win her second straight Area title.
Kinder blistered the front nine, going 4-under before finding bogeys on the back nine to finish at even par on the day, still good enough to win the Central Area golf championships by a big margin. Kinder birdied holes Nos. 3, 5, 6 and 7.
Kinder now advance to the Central Section individual championships Nov. 3 at Valley Oaks in Visalia, She also hopes to lead her Tiger teammates to their third straight trip to the Central Section team championship, which will be held Monday at Buena Vista Golf Course in Taft.
Lemoore finished second at Tuesday’s tournament with a team score of 493, just two strokes back of winner Redwood, which finished with a 493.
Kinder will be joined by teammates Jayda Olaes, who finished third in the Area Championships with an 84, Aiyana Barrios, sixth, and Lauren Black, 11th.
