Lemoore may just have what it takes to compete in the always tough West Yosemite League. Obviously, Hanford and Redwood will no doubt be big hurdles for the Tigers to overcome – both teams went 11-1 to share last year’s league title. Lemoore finished third with a respectable slate of 8-4. Over all the Tigers were 16-11.

The Tigers have a lot going for them this year, including the return of top players Katelyn Cole, Taylor Vasquez, Bobbie Henry, Alyssa Vazauez and Monica Lopez. All contributed greatly to Lemoore’s third-place finish.

“Our expectations are to compete for a league title,” said Tiger Coach Miguel Macias. “We have a lot to prove this year and are taking it one game at a time.”

Jazmine Taylor and Henry were chosen as the team’s captains. The Tigers are currently 3-4 after dropping a disappointing 59-29 decision to a powerful Edison team this week in the Hoover Holiday Classic played in Fresno and beating Clovis East 42-24 Thursday night in the second round.

The Tigers have beaten Bret Harte High School and Tulare Union while losing to Del Oro and Sonora in the Sonora Tournament last week.
