The West Hills College Lady Golden Eagles will take a solid 9-4 overall record into their own Lemoore Tournament, which begins Friday in the Golden Eagle Arena when the Eagles host Hartnell College at 7 p.m.

Other teams invited to the tournament include Rio Hondo, Laney Community College, Fresno City College, Redwoods, Marin College and Cerritos.

The tournament will feature semi-final games on Saturday and the championship game on Sunday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles are off to their best start ever, winning six of their first seven games, the only loss in that stretch a 62-53 setback to San Francisco. The Eagles also dropped a close 80-76 decision to San Bernardino in the Santa Ana College Tournament on December 3.

Unfortunately, the Eagles dropped two games to highly rated teams in the Santa Rosa Junior College Tournament, a 67-66 loss to Redwoods and a 62-59 decision to San Francisco, their second loss to the Bay Area community college.

Newcomer Michelle Brown is currently leading the Eagles in scoring at a 17.8 per game clip while veterans Samantha Earl and Jordan Lassiter are scoring at a rate of 12.1 and 12.3 points per game respectively.
