Friday was a very special day for about 150 Lemoore youngsters as the Lemoore Police Department, in conjunction with other local groups, including the Lemoore Lions, NAS Lemoore, and local volunteers handed out presents and Christmas wishes to local kids.
The annual Reason for the Season was held Friday at the Lemoore Veterans’ Hall from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and judging by the kids’ and volunteers’ reactions, the event was a complete success.
“It was definitely a success,” said Lemoore Police Commander Margaret Ochoa who helped out with the annual event again this year. “When you could touch the life of one child that is great, but touching the lives of over 150 children, well that is just marvelous.”
Ochoa went on to say that Friday’s event would not have been possible without the continued generosity of many sponsors and the hard work of many volunteers.
