The annual “Bash” 20th Annual don Olson Memorial wresting tournament was held Dec. 29 and 30 at the West Hills College Golden Eagle Arena and when it was all said and done, Bloomington High School, visiting from California’s Southern Section, wrestled its way to the tourney championship.

Bloomington scored 221.5 points throughout the 2-day event and finished barely ahead of Pioneer Valley High School’s 202.5 points and third placed Righetti, from Santa Maria, with 198 points.

The double-elimination tournament is considered by many to be one of the toughest in the state and featured more than 40 teams and showcasing over 1700 matches.

The only Kings County school to participate was Corcoran High School. Redwood and Golden West high schools took part as did Coalinga High School.
