Lemoore’s varsity girls’ soccer team hit sort of a roadblock on Thursday (Jan. 14) when it struggled to a 0-0 tie with visiting Golden West High School. Despite the scoreless tie, the Tigers are in the thick of the West Yosemite League title chase, holding on to second place behind powerful Redwood High School, which sports a perfect 5-0 mark in league play.

Lemoore fell to 3-1-1 in the WYL after two consecutive wins over El Diamante, winning 3-0 on Tuesday and notching a 3-1 victory over Mt. Whitney the previous week. The only league loss was a January 8 setback at Redwood, which the Rangers won 3-0. Overall the Tigers are 8-3-1.

The Tigers hope to rebound on January 20 when they travel to Hanford for a first-round matchup with the Hanford Bullpups.

The boys’ soccer team is struggling as it finishes off the first round of league play. The Tigers will host Hanford this coming Thursday in Tiger Stadium. Lemoore is 1-4 in the WYL and 6-10-2 overall. The boys have lost four league contests in a row, including a double overtime 2-1 loss to Redwood on January 5.
