Tiger boys crush Roosevelt in Saturday showcase at Edison High

Lemoore’s boys’ basketball team and Jaylunn English proved Saturday that their success this season is no fluke. The Tigers crushed Roosevelt High School 79-64 in one of several games played during a “showcase” of local high school talent, held at Edison High School.

All English did was score 30 points, pull down 15 rebounds and block three shots. Not bad for a night’s work. He also went up against Roosevelt’s Bryson Williams, another top player in the Central Section. Williams didn’t fare poorly either, tossing in 33 points on the night, but Bryson didn’t have supporting guys like Allen Perryman, Reggie Davis and Matt Borba to assist him.

The Tigers improved to 16-2 on the year.

The boys are at home Wednesday for a game with Golden West and on Friday travel to Hanford for a matchup with Hanford High School. The girls are at Golden West and will host Hanford on Friday.
