A Lemoore police officer, during his normal patrol Friday night, Jan. 29 at about 11:30 p.m. spotted a light-colored SUV speeding down East Bush Street.

The vehicle was traveling at about 50 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver of the vehicle quickly turned north on Grand Ave. in an attempt to evade the officer.

As the officer caught up to the vehicle, the driver later identified as Justin Drake, 32, left the car and began running away, jumping fences into the back yards of residences in the area.

Lemoore police officers set up a perimeter and began to search back yards with the assistance of the Kings County Sheriff's Office air unit, Sky King 1. Drake was found hiding in the garage of a residence that was not his on Bush St. The car he had been driving was reported stolen out of Visalia. Drake was placed under arrest for possession of a stolen vehicle.

A search of the vehicle produced burglary tools along with a mask and gloves. Justin Drake was also booked at the Kings County Jail for possession of burglary tools, obstructing and delaying a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trespassing.
