Lady Tigers earn playoff bye and will play Sierra or Chavez Friday in Lemoore

They’re going back to the playoffs after ending the season with an impressive 18-8 overall record and a superb 8-4 run in the tough West Yosemite League, but Lemoore’s Lady Tigers just couldn’t get past the Bullpups.

With Hanford’s lopsided 85-28 victory over the Tigers, the Bullpups won their 11th straight league championship with an 11-1 league campaign and an overall mark of 22-6.

A 21-point outburst in the first quarter more or less assured the Bullpups of a win. They led 50-20 at the half.

The Tigers, despite the loss, will still be heading to the Central Section Division II playoffs where they earned a first-round bye in Division II. The Tigers earned the No. 3 seed after their successful season and will play the winner of Wednesday's Sierra High and Chavez High first-round contest. The Tigers will play in their Event Center on Friday night at 7 p.m.

No. 1 Redwood also earned a bye and will play the winner of the Selma and Yosemite matchup Friday night in Visalia.
