There were several Tiger wrestlers who would like to have done nothing more than to wrestle for Central Section championships at next week’s Central Section Masters Meet in Lemoore Feb. 27 in the Event Center.

In the end, two Tigers will attend the Masters in a strong position. Lemoore wrestlers Gary Joint and Angel Solis finished first and third respectively and will be gunning for a spot in the state championships with strong matches at this weekend's Master's Tournament in Lemoore.

Lemoore's Gary Joint beat Clovis North's Chris Deloza in the 126-pound division with a pin at the 5:13 mark of the match. On Friday, Joint earned a 15-0 technical fall against Liberty-Bakersfield’s Jordan Patoc to earn a spot in the finals.

Solis was 3-0 going into Saturday’s final round of the 182-pound division, but lost on Saturday and finished third in his weight class with an an 8-4 victory over Bakersfield's Noah Rodriguez.

Joint and Solis will both compete in this weekend's Masters Tournament at Lemoore High School, and will be gunning for a spot in the state tournament in Bakersfield on March 4-5 at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield.
