Cadena wins three in search for CIF State Girls' Wrestling Championship in Visalia

Lemoore High School’s Esperanza Cadena is making her assault on a California State Girls’ Wrestling Championship in Visalia today (Feb. 27). The talented senior wrestler will face San Jose’s Alex Hedrick later today in a semifinal match in a bid to face the winner of the Alyssa Aceval (Corcoran) and Haven Olmos match at 6 p.m.

Cadena has rolled through the preliminary rounds, which started on Friday in Visalia’s Convention Center. She began the tourney with a win over Benicia’s Tara Othman. She then defeated Yucca Valley’s Vanessa Contreras in the second round.

She also has an 8-1 win over North Monterey County’s Delilah Houck, which put her in the semifinal match today.
