Tiger softball drops two in Edison Tourney

Lemoore’s varsity girls’ softball team dropped a pair of games in the Edison Tiger Classic on Friday. Lemoore dropped a 6-1 decision to Sanger High after the Apaches pitcher, Val Ruiz, tossed a 1-hitter at the Tigers.

The only Tiger to score a hit was Sierra Phelps. Lemoore’s Britney Antuna earned the loss for Lemoore, giving up nine hits and six runs in the loss.

The Tigers’ hitting woes were pronounced on Friday in the second game as they lost 11-0 to Edison High School. In that game, Madison Wallace, Jessica Hurd, and Yris Oregel had the only hits for the Tigers. Mackenzie Soper earned the win for Edison while Antuna got the loss.

Lemoore’s next action comes Tuesday at Tulare Union.
