Tigers split at Lady Driller softball tourney

Lemoore’s varsity girls’ softball team split a pair of games Thursday in the Bakersfield Lady Drillers Softball Tournament. Lemoore opened with an easy 8-0 win over Rosamond High School before dropping a late afternoon contest to Ridgeview 1-0.

Lemoore’s Alyssa Vasquez was the sole Tiger to get a hit against Ridgeview. On the other side, Lemoore’s Britney Antuna fired a 2-hitter and managed to give up just one run in the fifth inning to account for the final score.

The Tigers have a pair of games scheduled today (March 4) against Independence High School and Delano later in the afternoon.

Again Antuna tossed a gem for the Tigers, allowing just three hits and striking out 10. She also was responsible for a pair of RBI. Jessica Hurd had a pair of hits for the Tigers.

Lemoore improved to 3-4 on the season.
