Tiger soccer players earn WYL honors

Lemoore High School’s Mario Lanuza earned West Yosemite League First Team soccer honors this past week. A pair of Tigers join him as second-team picks. They are Oscar Berriga and Jesus Zavala. The league coaches also chose Mt. Whitney midfielder Jaime Trujillo as its player of the year in balloting recently.

Golden West forward Jack Felsted earned Offensive Player of the Year honors while Hanford’s Javier Pena earned Defensive Player of the Year.

Golden West High School won the WYL championship this past season, compiling a 10-2 mark. Mt. Whitney finished second. The Tigers finished at 5-17-2 overall and 1-11 in the WYL.
