Lemoore lost a heartbreaker Thursday afternoon in Lemoore to Mt. Whitney High School, dropping a 9-7 decision to the Pioneers.

Lemoore hopes to get back on track with a game in Visalia Tuesday against El Diamante. Lemoore fell to 1-2 in league play and 8-12 overall.

The Pioneers outlasted the Tigers 9-7 despite a furious Tiger rally in the fourth inning that had Lemoore score seven times.

Megan Ambriz brought home a pair of runs with a single in that fourth inning. Jessica Hurd also batted in a pair of runs.

Britney Antuna got the loss, giving up a pair of walks and striking out six Pioneers.

The Tigers will be at El Diamante on Tuesday (April 12) in an effort to get back into the race. Overall the Tigers are 8-12 on the year.
