Lemoore Police make quick work of locating hit-and-run driver

Lemoore Police on Sunday April 3, at about 6 p.m. responded to the scene of a hit-and-run accident at Barcelona Dr. and Oporto Dr. to find the driver of one of the vehicles involved no longer on the scene.

Upon arrival in the area the officers located two vehicles that were involved in the crash. One was a Honda minivan occupied by a female driver and four children, all under the age of 8. The other vehicle was a Chevy Colorado pickup with no one around it.

Witnesses reported the driver of the pick-up had run away and had possibly gone to a residence in the area. After a brief investigation the driver of the pick-up Tomas Jacob Aguilar, 27, of Lemoore, was located and arrested.

He was booked into the Kings County Jail for suspicion of felony hit and run, as well as a felony D.U.I.

One of the minor children in the minivan was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. He was treated and released.

The case is being sent to the Kings County D.A.'s office for prosecution.
