Tigers find rough going in WYL boys' tennis; lose to Hanford West

Lemoore’s boys’ tennis team is finding the competition in the West Yosemite League demanding, losing yet another heartbreaker against Hanford West on Wednesday in Lemoore, dropping a 4-5 contest.  The junior varsity pulled out a 4-1 victory.

For the Tigers, Mike Sinaga beat Damian Lopez 6-0, 6-0, and Lemoore’s Drew Gobby lost 1-6, 6-0, 8-10 in a super tie-breaker to Devin Balbins.

In other action, Arnold Cabuhat lost 4-6, 6-3, 10-12 in a super tie-breaker to Jose Ramos, and Jed Santos lost 6-7(5-7), 4-6 to Robert Soriano. Adrian Zamora won 6-1, 6-3 against Jayden Kirssling, and Spencer Denney won 6-0, 6-0 against Gio Latarga.

After singles competition was over, the match was tied 3-3.  In doubles the No. 1 team of Sinaga and Cabuhat won 8-2. Mitchell Foote and Cha Cho Martinez lost 6-8.  With the two teams tied at 4-4, it all came down to Gobby and Zamora against D. Lopez and Julian Jones.  Lemoore fell short 8-9 (4-7) in the tie breaker.
