Glen E. Neal: Beloved husband, father and pastor services set

Pastor Glen Edward Neal, 71, of Lemoore, husband of Darlene Elizabeth Neal, passed on from life to glory at Hanford Hospital on Friday, June 3, 2016.  He was surrounded by loved ones when he surrendered his last breath.

Glen Neal was born to the late Oliver and late Viola Neal in Ennis, Texas on December 13, 1944.  Bishop Neal was a loyal and dedicated man of God, dedicating over 40 years as an Under-shepherd watching over the flock of God at the Lily of the Valley Church.

As a young man, he made a name for himself as a football player at Lemoore High and was inducted into the Lemoore Foundation Hall of Fame.  He was known throughout the city and nationwide for his commitment to God and the people of God.

Bishop Glen Neal was known for giving a helping hand to all those that were in need.  His kindness and generosity is a tribute to the beauty of his spirit and heart.  He was an avid farmer, raising pigs, cows, and goats.  He was also skilled at purchasing fixer-upper homes and turning them into remodeled high quality rental properties.

He also had an admiration for taking old cars and restoring them.  His greatest passion was preaching the unadulterated word of God and sharing his love with family, flock and friends.  Bishop Neal preached like two heavens coming together as he reminded us that it was God that “scooped out the sea with the palm of his hands, hung the mountains up on scales and let the lightening zigzag through the sky.” Yes, he was an anointed and powerful preacher that was known and read of all men as one that loved the Lord with all his heart, mind and spirit.

Besides his beloved wife, Bishop Glen Neal is survived by his 5 children: Glenda Mackulin of Lemoore, Edward Neal and wife Myeisha of Lemoore, Lorenzo Neal and wife Denisha of Fresno, Esther Neal of Lemoore and Twila Neal of Lemoore; 5 brothers: Eugene Neal of Lemoore, Joe Neal of Lemoore, Chester Neal and wife Martha of Fresno, Willie Neal and wife Cynthia of Visalia, Johnnie Neal and wife Janice of Lemoore, and  (like a sister): Cat Neal Whitman of Lemoore; and grandchildren; Tyler Mackulin, Edward Neal Jr., Darlene Neal, Jackie Neal, Christian Neal, Azalea Neal, Joshua Neal, Michael Neal, Lorenzo Neal Jr., Nylyiah Paris Neal, Mia Grace Neal, Callie Neal, Anissa Neal, the entire Lily of the Valley Church family and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Neal and Viola Neal, his sister Bernice Milum, Pam Neal (like a sister), and his daughter Denise Marie Neal.

His inspiring presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known him. Because Bishop Neal was so loved and to accommodate all his many family, friends and guests, the home-going service will be held at West Hills College (Multi-purpose room) at 555 College Ave. Lemoore, commencing at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 18, 2016 with burial services immediately following. A repast will be held at Lemoore High School cafeteria immediately following burial services.

A Church service in his honor will be held June 17, Friday night, at 6 p.m., with a viewing of the body from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m at the Lily of the Valley Church; 608 Vine Street, Lemoore, for all that would like to come and celebrate his life with us.
