Lemoore's boys' water polo drops West Yosemite opener; face Redwood Tuesday

Lemoore’s varsity boys’ water polo team dropped their West Yosemite League opener Wednesday in the Tigers’ pool to Hanford West 9-5. Lemoore's varsity girls dropped a 15-10 contest to the Huskies.

After a close first half, during which the Tigers trailed the Huskies 3-2, West scored four times in the third period to go up on Lemoore 7-3. Teach team scored twice in the final frame. The Huskies Scott Navarro scored four times for the visiting Huskies.

“There are lots of new players in the league,” said Tiger Coach Josh Acosta. “Each team graduated eight plus seniors. I anticipate that all the teams in the WYL will make big improvements throughout the season.”

The Tigers fell to 0-1 in the WYL and are currently 5-3 overall. Lemoore hopes to rebound at Redwood High School on Tuesday, Sept. 20. Redwood lost its opening league match 12-7.
