Tiger water polo teams split with Mt. Whitney in WYL action Wednesday
Lemoore’s girls’ team is 0-3 in league play and 2-7 overall. The ladies next league match is scheduled Sept. 27 at El Diamante. Both the boys and girls play that day.
The boys’ team had a little better time in the pool, outlasting the Pioneers 13-10, thanks to four goals from Cameron Olson. The boys improved to 1-2 in the WYL and are 6-4 overall. On Tuesday in Visalia, Redwood High School routed the Tigers 10-2.
The girls also lost to Redwood Tuesday afternoon 14-4. The boys will play Friday (Sept. 23) in a tourney in Exeter. They play the Monarchs at 2 p.m.
While they dropped their contest against Mt. Whitney, Lemoore’s girls turned in some impressive performances. In addition to Pederson’s play, which included three steals, Samantha Costa had a pair of goals and three steals, J’Lyn Zerkle had a goal, while McKenna Davis had two assists and three steals.
For the boys, Drew Gobby scored three times. Billy Chedester and Calvin Rhoads each scored twice and Spencer Denney and Alex Eastridge each scored one goal.
