Tiger volleyball splits with Redwood, Mt. Whitney in West Yosemite League matchups

Lemoore fell to 1-2 in the WYL and 6-5 overall as they head into a tournament at Sunnyside High School starting Thursday, Sept. 22.
The Tigers have a pair of WYL matchups next week, a Tuesday contest at El Diamante and then a home game against Golden West on Thursday night.
Against the Pioneers Lemoore’s Kele Wheelman had 14 kills on the night as the Tigers dropped the opening set 25-15, but rebounded with wins in the second (25-10) and third (25-15) before finishing the Pioneers off in the fourth set 25-17.
In the Redwood matchup, the Rangers outscored Lemoore in the opening set 25-18, but lost the second 25-21. The Rangers took control in the third with a 25-16 win and closed out the match in the fourth set with a 25-11 win.
