Lemoore police on Saturday, Sept. 24, arrested a Lemoore and Corcoran man for possession of a stolen vehicle. Both were booked into the Kings County Jail.

It was about 2:12 p.m. on Saturday that a Lemoore police officer was checking an alley south of West Bush St. when he noticed two males seated in a white Honda Civic parked in the alley. While the two men appeared to be working on the vehicle, the officer checked on the license plate and discovered it belonged to a car stole in the Bakersfield area.

The front passenger fled the scene, running north bound, while the other man was detained by the officer and waited for additional police units. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 23-year-old Christian Lopez of Lemoore and was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and providing a false ID to a police officer. The department had been seeking Lopez prior to this incident because of two warrants out for his arrest. He was booked in the county jail with bail set at $15,000.

Lemoore police soon caught up with the second suspect, identified as 33-year-old Daniel Deleon of Corcoran. He too was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. He was booked into the county jail and his bail was set at $10,000.

Lemoore officers also located a white Toyota Corolla next to the stolen Honda. It had been reported stolen by the California Highway Patrol days before.
