Police arrested a 19-year-old Lemoore man Monday, September 26, at about 4:28 a.m. after being dispatched to North Lemoore Avenue and Hanford Armona Road. They were investigating the report of a suspicious person driving a white Chevy Tahoe wearing a ski mask.

The responding officers found the vehicle on N. Lemoore Ave. and Cinnamon Dr. and immediately stopped him.

When officers contacted the driver, they noticed he was acting unusual, and he appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Police ordered him out of the vehicle.

The driver, Ian Hamrick, 19, was ordered to step out of the vehicle but was hesitant to follow the officer's instructions. The driver opened the driver's side door, and the officers immediately noticed a handgun in the driver's side door pocket.

Hamrick was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody without incident.  Further inspection of the firearm revealed that it was loaded.  The vehicle was searched, and officers also located masks and cocaine.

Hamrick was arrested and booked into the Kings County Jail for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, carrying a loaded weapon in public, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while armed, being under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  His bail was set at $95,000.
