On Thursday, Sept. 29, at a little after midnight, a Lemoore police officer was patrolling in the area West Cinnamon Dr. when he spotted a white four-door vehicle failing to use its turn signal while turning into a gas station. The officer was about to stop the car and its occupants when he suddenly lost sight of the vehicle as it began driving recklessly through the parking lot.

The officer spotted the vehicle again, now traveling westbound on West Cinnamon away from the gas station. The officer followed the vehicle and activated his car’s overhead emergency lights, forcing the suspect vehicle to come to a sudden stop in the middle of the West Cinnamon Dr. andBasil Ct.intersection.

Three suspects in the vehicle exited and fled on foot away from the traffic stop, running into a nearby residence. The driver of the vehicle was seen running southbound away from the traffic stop. The two passengers ran westbound into a nearby residence and jumped the fence into the backyard.

The officer gave chase on foot and observed one male subject tossing what appeared to be a firearm on the ground. Both subjects were located in the back of the residence and taken into custody.

A search of the neighborhood was conducted for the third subject but the Lemoore Police Department, with assistance from the Kings County Sheriff's Office, were unable to locate the third subject.

During the investigation, the firearm located at scene was a 9 mm reported stolen out of Tulare. The first suspect was identified as Adrian Gaytan, 22 from Lemoore, and he was booked into the Kings County Jail for having been a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded stolen firearm in a public place, unlawful possession of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm, possession of stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance and violation of parole. His bail was set at $85,000.

The additional subject, Edgar Lopez, 22, from Hanford, was arrested and booked at the Kings County Jail for violation of parole and being in possession of a controlled substance. He is being held without bail.
