Just a little over a week since the Kings County Sheriff’s Department announced the bust of a substantial heroin ring that put seven suspects in jail, sheriff’s officials announced Tuesday that one of the suspects, Frank “Joe” Reyes, is suspected of being involved in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old child, beginning in April of 2015.

Sheriff’s investigators followed up on information they discovered in the year-long investigation and were able to locate and interview the victim who confirmed the relationship.

The victim told investigators she had met Reyes on social media and he lied about his age. The victim said she was not aware of his true age until seeing him on television during a press release of the operation known as Operation Black Gold.

Reyes, who is still in the Kings County Jail facing numerous drug-related charges has been charged with sodomy on a child under 16-year-old, lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 16, oral copulation, arranging a meeting with a child for the purpose of sexual intercourse, and communicating with a child with intent to commit sexual intercourse.

Reyes’ new bail amount was set at $3,787,500.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet been identified. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Kings County Sheriff's Office.
