Lemoore’s tennis squads had a busy week, starting with last weekend’s Junior Varsity Tennis Tournament in Visalia. The Tigers finished second to a powerful Redwood squad. The Tiger JVs beat El Diamante 4-0 and Golden West 4-0, and then split with Reedley.

The Tigers are currently in second place in the West Yosemite League race with a 9-2 record, two games behind 10-0 Redwood High School. Lemoore is 16-4 overall.

Because Lemoore won the game count, it got to play Redwood in the finals. The doubles team of Madison Sousa and Lizbeth Garcia won their match 8-4 but the other three pairings lost to hand the tournament title to the Rangers.

This past week Lemoore played three times, beating Mt. Whitney in a Monday match 8-1. The junior varsity also won by a 4-1 score.

El Diamante visited Lemoore High School on Wednesday and promptly lost 9-0 to the Tigers’ varsity team. The Lemoore junior varsity also won 5-0.

Finally, on Friday the Tigers took on Golden West in Visalia where they beat the Blazers 9-0 in the varsity match and 5-0 in the JV match.

The Tigers will play their final West Yosemite League match Wednesday afternoon.
