An alert homeowner returned to her home on Paradise Dr. about 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 and discovered someone in her home – who didn’t belong there. The home’s resident quickly called 911 and within minutes Lemoore police officers arrived on the scene.

The suspect, when discovered, quickly ran away. Lemoore officers, joined by Kings County Sheriff’s deputies, set up a perimeter in the area.

A Lemoore officer saw a subject on Indiana Ave. who matched the description given by the victim. The officer took chase as the suspect ran through a residential neighborhood. A deputy finally apprehended the suspect, Tyrei Miles, a short time later.

A witness reported seeing Miles near a vacant house on 18th Avenue. Lemoore officers and Kings County deputies checked the vacant house and found some of the property stolen during the burglary in the back yard. A second vacant house in the area was searched and additional stolen property was located in the back yard of that residence.

The recovered property included several firearms, electronics, and other household items. The investigation is ongoing and law enforcement is investigating whether Miles was involved in any other recent burglaries.

Miles was booked into the Kings County Jail for burglary, committing a crime for the benefit of a criminal street gang, and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $105,000.
